nebe@wtp.net
The Pathways Project proposes to establish a sustainable model
organization
with the two fold goal of reducing poverty while increasing economic
opportunities for Native Americans living in Billings, Montana.
As Pathways Project Consultant, Nell Eby will work on the following goals:
In order to build capacity in the community, a well-developed
Steering
Committee of key stakeholders is essential. The Steering Committee
will assist in strengthening partnerships and help guide NADC
throughout implementation activities. In addition,
sub-committees
are being developed that will
address issues in four primary areas
of
concern: health, education,
housing and employment.
A proposal to the Northwest Area Foundation is being developed
that will
concentrate on a long-term relationship with the Northwest Area Foundation.
The proposal will be comprised of collaborative activities of the Steering
Committee and sub-committees; research outcomes of identified resources
in the community for American Indians and present gaps in service
that address four areas of health, education, housing and employment.
In addition, research continues on Indian
Centers nationwide that
provides information on facilities, business relationships, revenue -
generating programs
for sustainability of the
centers and services
offered.
