Mission
The mission of the Urban Community regional plan is to empower
urban
Native Communities to work together to reduce poverty, honor cultural
strength, and deepen the communal ties among urban Indians
through
the implementation of regional strategies
created by community
members from the Billings Community.
Poverty Reduction Effort to reduce Urban Indian Poverty in the
areas
of Building Social Capital, Economic Development, Education/Family
Strengthening, Employment, Health/Well
Being & Housing.
The Urban Indian Community Strategic Plan will reduce Indian
poverty by
increasing numbers employed and income, increasing housing opportunities,
improving access to health care, cultural identity and overall health
and well being, increasing opportunities and empowerment
for all urban Indians.
